Crony gives Capitalism a Bad Name

This blog is inaugurated after reading Doris Kearns Goodwin's The Bully Pulpit, Teddy Roosevelt, William Taft and the Golden Age of Journalism.  The point of her book is that a free press is necessary to break apart capitalism ossifying into crony capitalism.  Washington circled by lobbyist seeking rents for their constituents has the malady.  China and Putin's Russia are particularly vexed by it. All need maximum press exposure to moderate its excesses.
